Mike Mitchell is ELMO’s Western Regional Sales Manager covering 13 States based out of the Sacramento, California region.
He has been in the Audio-Visual Industry for 32+ plus years. He graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a BA in Communications, with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism/Radio and Television Production in 1990. During those 30+ years, He has worked on the Dealer/Integrator side of the business for 15+ years, and as a Regional Manufactures Rep for the other 15 years. He is here to help you find the best solution for your customer’s application when it comes to the ELMO line of products. Let Mike help you make it right for your customer. His time on the Dealer/Integrator side of the business really formed the “Best Solution for the Customer” philosophy he brings to his role as the Elmo Western Regional Sales Manager. One of his goals is to develop an excellent relationship with his Dealers and their Customers to create a long-term partnership that benefits everyone. A happy customer is a repeat customer; and a happy dealer salesperson will open the door to more happy customers. In the end, we all want Happy Customers.
On a more personal note; he has been married for 31 years to his beautiful wife Karen and lives in the greater Sacramento, CA area. She has been a TK teacher (4-5 year old’s) for 30 years now. They have 3 adult children. Their daughter is 30; and works as a Genetic Counselor up in the greater Seattle, WA area. She has been married for 4 years; and is pregnant with their first grandchild due in early November. Their older son lives in the Central Valley of CA and works as the SID (Sports Information Director) for a large State University. He handles all the Press Releases/PR/Game write ups/Social Media/Website/Videotaping/and broadcasting of all home games for the Athletic Department. Their youngest son lives in the Sacramento Area and works in the Marketing Department for a large National Sports Apparel company (contracts with all the major sports leagues around the world). On the side, he works for the Golden State Warriors in their game entertainment department.
Over the years, Mike has worked several side jobs in the live event video/audio production industry. Mostly they have been sports related because he is a sports nut. He has worked Golf Tournaments; NASCAR races; High School, College, and Professional Basketball; and High School Football. But mostly Minor League Baseball for the Sacramento Rivercats; currently the AAA team for the San Francisco Giants. He is one of a few remaining part timers who have worked for the Sacramento Rivercats for all 23 seasons since they moved to Sacramento. When working one of the games, you can mostly find him directing the game in the control room; and if not directing, then manning a camera in one of the dugouts or in the control room.
He also loves to get out and see places, He has been to 49 of the 50 US States (sorry Arkansas, you are on his list); and about half of Canada. He has visited most of the US National Parks, and most of the California State Parks. He prefers to road trip and see things from behind the wheel of a car. One of his favorite day trips is heading up the hill to Lake Tahoe; and siting on the beach to unwind and relax.
