Fall is in full swing and students love to get outside to play with the leaves. Why not make learning fun with an engaging outdoor lesson.

ELMO’s portable document cameras are perfect for sharing fall colors with your students, whether you’re in the classroom or in your own backyard. Here’s how:

Things you’ll need:

• Portable Document Camera
• Laptop, Chromebook or tablet with USB input
• Internet Access (a phone hotspot will work)
• Your Choice of leaves

Step 1 – Turn on your display device and ensure that it is connected to the internet. Then plug your document camera into the USB port of your device (other output ports can also be used if your camera has them).

Step 2 – Open your favorite internet browser and navigate to Image Mate + C https://www.elmousa.com/imagematecloud/

Step 3 – Ensure that the document camera image is selected in Image Mate + C by looking at the drop-down menu in Image Mate + C, if your document camera is not selected click on the drop down menu and select the correct camera, in this case we’ll be using the MX-P2 (MX-1/MX-P on the drop down).

Step 4 – Place leaves, nuts or other fall themed objects under the document camera and use the pen tool in IM+C to annotate as you enjoy the outdoors with your students.

*Note: IM+C can also be used with your favorite collaboration software to teach in remote learning environments.
